Business as usual

th year, took place at Frankies in Chiswick, where more than 100 guests enjoyed a traditional English roast lunch complete with bread and butter pudding for dessert. By George!
Capital Radio listeners turned up in droves to celebrate St George’s Day at the George IV pub on Chiswick High Road. Johnny Vaughn and Denise Van Outen broadcast live on Capital from the pub, dressed in a series of outlandish traditional English clothes. The crowd also turned up in their British best, and began enjoying their pints from 6am. Outfits included flags, hankies on heads, painted faces and, of course, football shirts. The Nancys from ‘I’d do Anything’ turned to sing the rousing Oliver! song ‘Um Pa Pa’, and act out scenes from Eastenders. A rowdy and very English day was enjoyed by all!

Game for a laugh
Up to 350 film and TV stars, footballers, cast and crew, and local residents turned out for the premiere of Neville Raschid’s Ealing Comedy – starring Kulvinder Ghir (Goodness Gracious Me) and Leena Dhingra (Eastenders) – which took place at the Ealing Empire. Special guest was Mayor of Ealing, Mrs Hazel Ware, who was welcomed by a line-up of the makers of the film and executives from Empire Cinemas. Other guests included, former Northern Ireland and Fulham football manager, Lawrie Sanchez; and former Wasps and England rugby player, Jeff Probyn. After the film, 120 guests attended an afterparty at the Questors Theatre, where they nibbled on Thai green curry and veggie curry from Blanchett Events. The event was held in aid of Pitshanger Football Club and resulted in about £500 being donated to the Pitshanger Clubhouse Fund.
